Can i use this Saddle pad for a downhill horse?

My horse is slightly downhill. Im thinking about getting her this half pad:http://www.jeffersequine.com/product.asp?camid=EQU&pn=KV-5Q&cn=24031.
Do you think my saddle will still fit my horse since the Saddle Pad will make her shoulders wider?
thanks

It will depend on the fit of your saddle. If your saddle is a bit wide for her, then it would be fine. If her saddle fits her perfectly now, then it might cause some pinching at the withers.

Really though, all this would do is lift you up–not her. It is not going to make it any easier for her to get on her hind or change her way of going (unless it makes the saddle too tight and then you’d have a negative effect).

I had a mare who was slightly down hill. The farrier put shoes with and a heel wedge pad on her (nothing crazy like a racking horse, just a small wedge) and it really helped. That little bit lifter her shoulders up nicely and she had a much easier time collecting and getting on the hind. Again though, nothing drastic as that would work against the horse’s skeletal system as it is, but a slight little lift might make a world of difference.
